And she was. She loved the costume, the make-up and the extra fuss that comes with all dance recitals. It was held in our equivalent of Saskatoon's Centennial and my Mom & Dad traveled for the occasion. On the day, James sent flowers to the ballerina, who was most pleased. She & I got her ready and we all headed to the auditorium. Our friend and her daughter met us there pushing Sasha's personal audience to a total of 7.
The show was run completely differently than Miss P did and, despite all the chaos and hours in dress rehearsal, it really made me appreciate her efforts because she really put on a show. In our case, the kids sat in the audience with the parents & were called up in groups which totally interrupted the flow. Having said that, I still enjoyed it. Not only did Sasha's class do a wonderful job (for most of the girls, it was their first time on stage), but there was a really great tap number and some 'big girl' ballet (en pointe, of course). I wasn't sure who to watch: the big girls or Sasha, who sat with her hand over her heart & mouth hanging open.

All made up with somewhere to go...

After the performance, with her biggest fans.

This is a pretty poor video of Sasha's performance. It was taken with my little point & shoot and I was trying to watch & tape at the same time which meant that the camera tipped up a bit at times. Sasha & her partner enter last & Sasha is on your right. When the girls sing, Sasha is at the end of the line, on the right.
